News from the Christian Help Food Bank
Saw a great English WWII film last week, Johnny in the Clouds' starring Hayley's daddy, John Mills, and Michael Redgrave, Vanessa and Lynn's papa. Redgrave was so young I hardly recognized him. He played an American bomber captain arriving with his squadrons in 1944, just in time to help the British RAF pilots bring that rotten war to an end.

Speaking of short-term runs, my vacation is almost over, my daughter's visit is almost over, camping out on the home front is almost over as our home renovation winds up (or is that winds down, or just winds
?). Soon it's back to the usual. I'd say I've missed Theater during the week, but there's been plenty of entertainment since my daughter came Roy Orbison entertainment at Sheriff John's Happy Days Malt Shop what a great trip back to another time, complete with burgers and malts.

The Agness Fire Department's Ninth Annual Steak Feed is this Saturday, September 4 in conjunction with the Agness Extravaganza/Tomato Festival. There will be a contest and prizes for the biggest and the weirdest tomato. There will also be fresh Agness produce for sale. There will be games and prizes for kids, and of course, the ever popular tomato piñata.

The Indian Creek Hatchery Salmon Derby' is scheduled for the following Saturday (September 18). Lex's Landing will also be the host for this derby. Proceeds will go to the hatchery.
